The editor is a single screen. It is worth walking it top to bottom once. At the very top, the title Oryx Signal Studio with a badge beside it saying which mode you are working in: Digital or Analog. Below it the controls, split into two rows. First row. On the left: the menu, the name of the open project, the Device button and the undo / redo arrows. On the right: Protocol, the step number and label controls, and the theme switch. Second row, centered: Steps, Zoom, Channels and Reset. Here is what each one does.
Start a blank project.
Open a project saved in your account.
Save the project to your account.
Save a copy under another name.
Save or insert signal templates. Digital mode only.
Download the file with the signal.
Account details and subscription.
Contact for custom features.
Changes mode. The label and the icon show where you are going.
Next to the menu is the name of the open project, with a short notice —Saved, Opened— that fades on its own.

Device

Opens the window to connect the ESP32 generator over USB. See Connect the device.

Undo / Redo

Ctrl+Z and Ctrl+Y. Disabled in view mode.

Protocol

Picks how the cells are read: None, UART, CAN, I2C or Modbus. The button shows the active one. Digital mode only. See Protocols.

Step numbers and labels

A group of controls: The middle controls change with the mode: Fit and Values appear in analog, and in their place digital shows the count divider and the numbering settings.
While a protocol is active, its reading takes the place of the step numbers: the button says so and is disabled.

Steps

Steps: [−] [16] [+] [🔒] The and + buttons remove and add one step; holding them down keeps going. The middle field takes the number directly. The padlock locks the step count: with it closed you cannot delete or insert steps, or unfold templates.

Zoom

[Fit] [−] [px per step] [+] Fit brings the whole signal onto the screen. The middle field is the pixels per step. The + and buttons always move by the same proportion, so the zoom feels the same up close as far away.

Theme

Light / dark switch. Picking one by hand turns off following the browser theme.

Channels

Opens the channel organizer, and shows how many you have out of the maximum. See Channels.

Reset

Clears every signal.

Channel name column

To the left of the timeline, one card per channel with:
  • The name, editable in place.
  • The signal color.
  • The grid subdivision (÷n), with arrows to raise and lower it.
  • The offset in steps.
  • With a protocol active, the status box: how many frames there are, whether they are all fine and, expanding it, the full reading.

Timeline

The center of the screen. It draws 4 channels at a time; with more, the page arrows appear. Hidden channels that fall between two visible ones are marked with a dashed line and their name. This is where you click, drag, select stretches and place points.

Channel actions column

On the right, each channel’s gear opens its menu: At the bottom of the column, Add Channel.

Toolbar

At the foot of the screen. It acts on the selection: And on the sides: the view mode switch, the shortcut help (? or H) and the Settings gear. The G key opens the export window directly. In analog mode the bar changes: the Point / Step selector appears, along with the three X Axis, Y Axis and Radius controls. See Analog editing.
