Copy and paste

How pasting works

Pasting does not drop the contents where you were: it enters paste mode and asks you to pick where it starts.
1

Copy a stretch

Select it and press Ctrl+C.
2

Press Paste

The header tells you: “Pick the pulse where the paste starts · Esc to cancel”. In analog it asks for a divider instead of a pulse.
3

Choose how many times

Before dropping the contents it asks how many repetitions you want, and whether you want the count marked over the signal.
4

Click where it goes

That is where it lands. Esc cancels at any time.

What gets copied

The values of the selected stretch. If a folded template fell inside, it travels whole and stays a template when pasted.

Between tabs

You can copy in one project and paste into another you have open in another tab of the same browser. The Paste button in the other tab enables itself, without reloading.
It does not work between different browsers, or between a normal window and a private one.The modes do not cross either: what you copied in digital does not go into an analog project.

Undo and redo

Every history step stores the whole project: signal, steps, channels, analog points and templates. Undo gives you all of it back together.
After undoing, making a new change loses what you had undone. It is how any editor behaves, but it is worth keeping in mind. And remember that each mode has its own history: undoing in digital does not step back anything you did in analog.
The buttons are disabled in view mode, along with the rest of editing.

Starting over

  • Reset in the header clears every signal.
  • Shift + Backspace does the same from the keyboard.
