# Language and theme

> Spanish or English, light or dark.

Both apply to the whole application: they do not depend on the mode or the
project.

## Language

Spanish or English, in **General Settings → Interface language**. The change is
immediate, no reload needed.

  **The language also shows up in the exported file.** If you work in English, the
  `.txt` headers come out *Step, To, Channel, Level0, Level1…*; in Spanish, their
  equivalents. Whoever opens it later reads the same words you saw on screen.

  Keep it in mind if you are going to share the file with someone working in the
  other language.

## Theme

Two places change it, and they do the same thing:

* The **sun / moon** switch in the header.
* **General Settings → Dark mode**.

### Automatic

With the **Automatic** checkbox the theme is decided by your browser, and the
page follows it when your system switches between light and dark.

  Picking light or dark by hand **turns off Automatic**. Your manual choice is
  stored, so you can go back to it.

## Reduced motion

If you have the **reduce motion** preference enabled in your operating system,
the app respects it and does not animate the zoom.
