# Keyboard shortcuts

> The full list, as the editor help shows it.

The help opens with `?` or `H` from the editor, or with the keyboard button on
the bar. Several sections change with the mode, because the shortcuts change
too.

## Editing the selected step (digital)

| Key             | What it does                    |
| --------------- | ------------------------------- |
| `S`             | Selects the center step         |
| `Esc`           | Cancels the selection           |
| `↑ / ↓`         | High / low (1 step)             |
| `Space`         | Toggles high / low              |
| `← / →`         | Moves the step cursor           |
| `Shift + ← / →` | Extends the selection           |
| `Shift + ↑ / ↓` | Switches channel                |
| `1` – `4`       | Goes to the channel (same step) |
| `A`             | Toggles the selection           |
| `I`             | Inverts the selection           |
| `L`             | Labels the selection            |
| `D`             | Division mode                   |
| `F`             | Offset mode                     |
| `Del`           | Deletes the selected steps      |
| `Insert`        | Inserts steps before the pulse  |

## Connection points and chords (analog)

| Gesture or key     | What it does                           |
| ------------------ | -------------------------------------- |
| Click on a divider | Creates a point at the Y Axis height   |
| Click on a point   | Selects it / releases it               |
| Double click       | Deletes the point                      |
| Drag               | Selects a span                         |
| Click on the chord | Selects it (enables X Axis and Radius) |
| `Del`              | Deletes the chosen points              |
| `Esc`              | Cancels the selection                  |
| `I`                | Mirrors the heights                    |
| `L`                | Labels the span                        |
| `D`                | Adds dividers                          |
| `F`                | Shifts the points                      |
| `Insert`           | Inserts steps before the pulse         |

## Offset / Division modes

| Key                | What it does        |
| ------------------ | ------------------- |
| `← / →` or `+ / −` | Adjusts the amount  |
| `Enter`            | Confirms            |
| `Esc`              | Cancels / goes back |

## Clipboard

| Key                       | What it does |
| ------------------------- | ------------ |
| `C` / `Ctrl+C`            | Copy         |
| `X` / `Ctrl+X`            | Cut          |
| `V` / `P` / `Ctrl+V`      | Paste        |
| `Ctrl+Z`                  | Undo         |
| `Ctrl+Y` / `Ctrl+Shift+Z` | Redo         |

## Steps and zoom

| Key              | What it does    |
| ---------------- | --------------- |
| `+` / `=`        | Add step        |
| `−`              | Remove step     |
| `Ctrl + +` / `=` | Zoom in         |
| `Ctrl + −`       | Zoom out        |
| `Z` or `Ctrl+0`  | Auto-zoom (fit) |

## Counting and labels (digital)

| Key         | What it does                        |
| ----------- | ----------------------------------- |
| `N`         | Shows or hides the step numbers     |
| `Shift + N` | Changes the mode (all / high / low) |
| `Shift + M` | Individual / combined counting      |
| `M`         | Count divider on the selection      |
| `T`         | Shows or hides the labels           |

## Channels

| Key         | What it does                         | Mode    |

| `Shift + C` | Add channel                          | Both    |
| `Shift + W` | Delete the active channel            | Both    |
| `Shift + R` | Repeat the channel                   | Digital |
| `Shift + I` | Invert the whole channel             | Digital |
| `Shift + A` | Toggle the channel (all high / low)  | Digital |
| `Shift + D` | Show or hide the repetition dividers | Digital |
